About

Built for the farmer who keeps more than one kind of thing.

Most farm software targets either a thousand-head feedlot or a backyard hobbyist. Musha is for everyone in between — the owner-operator with cattle, chickens, and a maize field who juggles three different spreadsheets today.

Founder

Masimba Gangaidzo.

Musha is the Shona word for the homestead — the place where ancestors, family, livestock and crops live together. It felt right for an app about keeping all those things in one view.

I'm a software developer in Harare. Before that I spent a decade in IT audit and assurance work. I started Musha because someone close to me runs a small rabbit operation — and there was no app that fit. Generic notes apps don't know what palpation is, and enterprise herd software is built around someone with 800 head and a staff of three.

It started with rabbits, then it became obvious that the same person also keeps chickens and is thinking about goats — and now the spreadsheets are multiplying. So Musha was built generic: any combination of livestock and crops, with templates that ship useful from day one and a custom-template builder for anything unusual.

Musha is in private beta, shipping on Android first.

Why

The gap.

FarmLogs, AgriWebb, Folio3 — the existing tools are built for commercial operations with a staff and a budget. Pricing assumes that. Feature surface assumes that. Onboarding assumes that.

The owner-operator — one or two people running a mixed-livestock farm — gets the spreadsheet, the notebook on the fridge, and the memory of last quarter's weighings. Musha is the tool we'd build for ourselves. And then did.

Principles

What we'll keep saying yes and no to.

Offline-first is non-negotiable.

Farm work happens where there is no signal. The app works in full offline mode; the only network-dependent feature is AI on Musha.

Your data lives on your device.

Musha does not hold farm records on a server. Backups go from you to wherever you choose. We have no copy.

Templates earn their place.

A template ships only when it has fields and event types a farmer would actually use. No 'placeholder' templates that pad the count.

Free tier is real.

Musha · Free is up to 10 entities forever — not a 30-day countdown. If you outgrow it, that's the moment to consider paying us.

AI is capped, not throttled.

Per-request input/output limits are mathematical. We do not 'helpfully' rate-limit you when costs creep up — you always see your daily count, no surprises.

Quiet by default.

Musha does not send marketing notifications, ask you to invite friends, or upsell features inside features you already paid for.
